Additionally, it plays a crucial role in managing the shedding of giardia oocysts, promoting a healthier digestive system for your canine companion.

Key Features of Cazitel for Dogs:

  • Wide-Ranging Efficacy: Targets and controls 12 different species of intestinal worms, safeguarding your dog's health.
  • Giardia Oocyst Management: Helps in controlling the shedding of giardia oocysts, reducing the risk of transmission and infection.
  • Tasty Formula: The flavored tablet makes administration easy and stress-free, appealing even to picky eaters.
  • Suitable for Young Puppies: Safe for use in puppies from two weeks of age and weighing over 10kg.

Dosage and Administration:

  • Weight-Based Dosage: Ensure to weigh your dog before administration to determine the correct dosage, with each tablet formulated to treat 10kg of body weight.
  • Oral Administration: Tablets are given orally, directly by mouth, with no need for fasting prior to dosing.
  • Treatment Schedule: For optimal protection against hookworm and roundworm, start treatment at 2, 4, 8, and 12 weeks of age, followed by monthly doses until 6 months of age, and then every 3 months. Breeding bitches should be treated before mating, 10 days before whelping, and again 2 and 4 weeks after whelping. For comprehensive household protection, ensure all dogs and cats are treated.
  • Special Treatment Intervals: Whipworms require treatment every 6 to 8 weeks after 3 months of age. Tapeworms (excluding hydatid) are treated every 3 months, while dogs in hydatid tapeworm areas should be treated every 6 weeks. Giardia infections should be confirmed by a veterinarian and treated for 3 consecutive days.

Precautions:

  • Age Limit: Not for use in puppies under 2 weeks of age.
  • Allergy Warning: Do not administer to dogs known to be allergic to the medication.

Possible Side Effects:

Cazitel is generally well-tolerated and approved for puppies starting from 2 weeks of age. It can also be safely combined with other treatments, such as flea and tick preventatives and vaccinations.
